Schwarzenbek / Berlin
Fette Compacting, the world's leading provider of integrated solutions for industrial tablet manufacturing, joins the shared innovation ecosystem Maschinenraum. Together with more than 20 other medium-sized companies, Fette Compacting will share best practices in digital transformation and continue to work on scaling digital services.
Fette Compacting's tablet presses and capsule filling machines ensure that medicines and dietary supplements are brought into shape safely and efficiently all over the world. To ensure that customers always generate the best possible performance from their machines, Fette Compacting will also offer digital solutions in three key areas: Learn, Guide and Control. The use of learning modules as an app on smartphones as well as in virtual reality, digital trouble-shooting guides and live support from Fette Compacting experts will support operators and maintenance staff on-demand – from beginner to expert level. In the Control area, customers can get an overview of their machine and live production data at any time and from any location. Data-based solutions for performance management and predictive maintenance are currently being further expanded. With Maschinenraum and its member companies, Fette Compacting has found the ideal environment to bundle its digital activities and to further develop them in dialog with other medium-sized companies.
Digital solutions should support people at the machines
"Quality, output, yield as well as time for cleaning and set-up are the critical variables in the pharmaceutical industry. Together with our customers, we have identified exactly how Fette Compacting can provide digital support here. We have already developed corresponding services and testing is underway – now it's a matter of scaling them up successfully. At Maschinenraum, we meet like-minded people with similar and complementary experiences. There, we want to learn how we can approach the topic of scaling even better," explains Britta von Selchow, Head of OSDi Digital Solutions at Fette Compacting.
"Our customers' tablet presses and capsule filling machines run up to 24 hours a day. User support therefore plays a central role in the development of our digital solutions such as LiveGuide. As a machine builder, we deliver demand-oriented OEM expertise and help our customers worldwide to manufacture their diverse products even more efficiently," adds Joachim Dittrich, CEO of Fette Compacting.
"The fact that a company like Fette Compacting is becoming part of our ecosystem, especially in times when our health seems more valuable than ever, is a strong signal. With Maschinenraum, we offer a central hub for medium-sized companies in the capital to work together on new ideas and solutions. I am certain that as a highly specialized provider that understands the needs of its customers and develops digital services accordingly, Fette Compacting will further extend its lead as a technology leader," says Tobias Rappers, Managing Director of Maschinenraum.
Maschinenraum, a shared innovation ecosystem from SMEs for SMEs, unites German SMEs and family businesses to boldly shape the future. Already more than 20 family businesses – including Viessmann, Fiege Logistik, Dussmann Service and Paracelsus Kliniken – have joined Maschinenraum to jointly drive the digital transformation of SMEs.
