Idea generation aside from the core business through co-creation

The topic of our last Innovation Management Circle concerns many of our member companies and German Mittelstand: How do you set up successful co-creation? And what usage does co-creation have in the generation of ideas outside of the core business?

The top learnings:

  • Think bigger: Co-creation is suitable as an area of cooperation not only with customers but also with other companies and institutions

  • Joint understanding: As a basis for co-creation, attention should be paid to the same understanding of working methods and terminology of the innovation areas as well as the idea providers and partners

  • Strategic fit: Identified ideas should be tested as early as possible with the own corporate strategy and co-creation should not be seen as an end in itself
