We accompany different departments in their daily project work with our advisory team. Through a network of selected experts we structure, inspire, develop and validate innovative solutions to important questions in the field of strategy and transformation up to innovation and venturing. We collaborate for more talents in medium-sized companies

We support the recruiting of member companies by providing access to talent. To this end, we cooperate with leading universities and colleges to combine scientific theory and entrepreneurial practice and to show students and alumni career paths in SMEs. On our Maschinenraum Job Board we aggregate all open jobs of our member companies – easy and practical for anyone who wants to actively support the transformation in the German-speaking Mittelstand.

Circular economy in family businesses – This was the motto of our discussions at the Greentech Festival together with three member companies. At the leading conference for sustainability, we represented SMEs and family businesses on a global stage.

User-centric solution development

Based on the design thinking method, we explored the topic area together with the project team of a member company, identified needs and problems and developed idea concepts from them. We developed these further together and pitched them to the management.

Train the trainer program

Over a period of six months, we trained participants from various member companies to become design thinking coaches. Parallel to the theory, the focus was on conducting workshops: learning by doing. These were carried out in live settings in the various companies.

Coaching user-centered vision development

In a 4-month process, we accompanied a project team in the development of a new vision. In defined focus areas, the target group and experts were interviewed about future developments. In further steps, these findings were condensed, validated and developed into a forward-looking vision for the business unit.

Learning together through classification and comparison

Based on individual questions, we implemented a consortium benchmarking for IT departments of four member companies. The participating companies defined individual questions and discussed the results of the evaluation in face-to-face workshops in order to identify levers for optimization and to learn from each other.

Joint student project for new approaches to solutions

As part of a WHU bachelor entrepreneur project, we worked with students to find solutions to the challenges faced by two member companies. In teams, we analyzed the urbanization effects on the B2C and B2B product portfolio of one company. At the other company, we focused on employee recruitment and retention for blue- and white-collar. Maschinenraum organized, curated and moderated the project.
