Anyone who follows Dina Reit's appearances on social media gets a lot on offer. You may then see the entrepreneur hammering away at a laser engraving or working on an avocado. As co-managing director of machine builder SK LASER, Reit has built an Internet presence that is unparalleled in the industry. "It's been intense to see the effect a post like this can have," Reit says in the podcast "Alles neu...? Aus dem Maschinenraum." In the height of the pandemic, he says, the videos were "important marketing and sales tools." The 29-year-old is slated to take over sole leadership of the company her father founded at the start of the millennium in three years. To prepare for that, Reit, who has no technical training, has stood at the workbench with as many employees as possible to gain expertise. "I fought hard to get started; it wasn't easy for me," Reit says today. However, she says she was surprised how quickly employees accepted her in her leadership position. The entrepreneur describes how she prepared the handover together with her father and the problems involved - partly because you can inherit a company, but not a particular skill. "Without my father, we have to reorient ourselves," Reit says. "Sales are heavily focused on him right now." The company's successor talks about what she likes to do most with her laser, what she's been most surprised about on the job, and what tips she has for social media presence. Dina Reit
Dina Reit is the successor at machine manufacturer SK LASER. The 29-year-old takes over her father's company and leads it into the second generation. She designs innovative and diverse mechanical engineering. As an education, she completed a double degree (economics, art history and philosophy) in Frankfurt and London and a master's degree in management at EBS and EM Lyon. Dina Reit joined SK LASER in 2019 and during this time she has already been able to implement several innovations such as digital distribution and further development of standard lasers. Through personal branding, she has become an influential voice in mechanical engineering, reporting on the topics of lasers and succession.
SK LASER is a machine builder based in Wiesbaden, Germany. The company manufactures standard and customized laser machines for surface processing. The company was founded in 2005 by Christoph Kollbach. SK LASER's customers come from industry and use the lasers for product marking, for example.
