Episode description
Isabel Bonacker | BABOR BEAUTY GROUP: "We aim to be disruptive"
There are many companies that talk about sustainability without getting too specific. And then there's the cosmetics company BABOR BEAUTY GROUP: the Aachen-based manufacturer, founded in the early 1960s, has built a new factory where a lot of things really do run differently. The building functions like a low-energy house, half of it is powered by self-generated solar electricity, and the vehicle fleet consists of 100 percent electric cars. "We just didn't want to greenwash, but really reduce emissions," says , vice chair of the board of directors at Babor, in the podcast "Alles Neu…? Aus dem Maschinenraum" For Isabel Bonacker, a granddaughter of the company's founder, the project is also part of a strategy the company is using to drive innovation. "We already have the goal of being disruptive as well," says the entrepreneur, who wants to make Babor a "global player." To develop new products and processes, there is a talent lab where employees are to acquire an "entrepreneurial mindset." Isabel Bonacker talks about the immense growth at Babor, new sales channels and the question of why ampoules are unbeatable. In the podcast - with Tobias Rappers, Managing Director of Maschinenraum and Capital editor Nils Kreimeier.
