DAW joins Maschinenraum

As part of its planned innovation activities, the family-owned company DAW, headquartered in Ober-Ramstadt in southern Hesse, is joining Maschinenraum, a platform from Mittelstand for Mittelstand. The partnership will validate service and business model innovations and develop strategies to improve recruiting.

For Maschinenraum, which only opened its doors in March of this year, the family-owned company DAW is already the 21st member to join Maschinenraum. Together with companies such as Fiege Logistik, Lamy, the Paracelsus Kliniken and Viessmann, Maschinenraum is pursuing the mission of creating the next generation of Mittelstand.

Founded in 1895 and family-run for five generations, DAW is today the largest private company in its industry in Europe. The general public is probably most familiar with the Alpinaweiß product developed by DAW, which is well-known to everyone.

"We are very pleased to welcome DAW, another member from another industry. Together we will drive forward the innovation and transformation process at DAW. Through the diverse perspectives that our members will gain from working together, we will be able to tap previously unused potential and strengthen the SME sector as a whole," says Tobias Rappers, Managing Director of Maschinenraum.

As an independent and award-winning family business, sustainability is a basic corporate attitude that DAW stands for – both economically and ecologically. This is another reason why DAW is pleased to be part of Maschinenraum. In this way, the participative, collaborative approach to innovation ensures that resources are used more sparingly.

"We have been a strongly technology-driven company for 125 years. While we have invested primarily in product innovations in recent years, we are now facing the challenge of validating and implementing many ideas for future services and business models. By becoming a member of Maschinenraum, we want to make our innovation process both more efficient and more effective. We also look forward to the valuable exchange among like-minded people," says Dr. Ralf Murjahn, CEO of DAW.
