Hesse Lignal becomes new member of the shared Maschinenraum ecosystem
Hamm / Berlin, 11.10.2023 - Hesse Lignal, the specialist for professional coating solutions with paints, oils and stains, becomes a new member of the Maschinenraum transformation ecosystem.
Maschinenraum, an alliance of more than 70 family-owned companies as well as university partners, venture capitalists and other innovators, is working together to transform German SMEs. Sustainability, automation and digitization of their processes, leadership development and employer branding are some of the topics that the family-owned company is currently addressing intensively and on which it would like to seek inspiration and exchange experiences in the network.
Hesse GmbH & Co. KG, based in Hamm, Westphalia, is a renowned German manufacturer of varnishes and stains, specializing in interior wood surfaces. The company has been family-owned by Fritz and Karl Hesse since its foundation in 1910. Currently, Hans Jürgen Hesse and Jens Hesse are managing the company in the third and fourth generation, respectively. Today, the Hesse Group generates a turnover of 115 million euros and is internationally present with its own locations in Belgium, France, the Middle East as well as in China and India with joint ventures. Around 450 employees work at the sites in Hamm and internationally, producing around 100 tons of coatings and stains every day based on more than 45,000 formulations.
Under the guiding principle "Inspiring You", Hesse Lignal defines itself as far more than just a developer or producer. The company sees itself as a source of inspiration, with the vision of making the world a little more beautiful and worth living in. Progress and innovation have always played a central role in this. In order to continue to live up to this claim in the future, Hesse Lignal has now joined Maschinenraum.
"What should the next network be like? How does it provide concrete benefits and achieve a high level of acceptance? These were the questions we asked ourselves when we heard about Maschinenraum. Open, uncomplicated, for all employees, coordinating curators who serve as contact persons for the many topics, all this convinced us of Maschinenraum. A great concept. We are happy to become a part of this network." - Jens Hesse and Hans Jürgen Hesse, managing directors of Hesse.
Tobias Rappers, Managing Director of Maschinenraum, is delighted that Hesse Lignal has joined our transformation ecosystem: "As a long-established family business in the field of professional surface solutions, they bring valuable expertise to the table. Their vision to inspire and drive for progress and innovation fits perfectly with our shared mission. We are confident that their experience and commitment will make a positive contribution to the further development of the German SME sector."
