Maschinenraum cooperates with the University of Applied Sciences HTW Berlin

The Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW Berlin) - Berlin's largest university of applied sciences - becomes part of Maschinenraum.

The alliance of more than 60 family-owned companies as well as university partners and other innovators is working together on the digital transformation of German SMEs. At the heart of the collaboration with HTW Berlin is the exchange between scientific theory and entrepreneurial practice, as well as highlighting career paths in SMEs and family businesses for students and alumni.

HTW Berlin sees itself as a university with social responsibility. As a university of applied sciences, it is close to the people and the companies in the region. Sustainability and social transformation are important components of teaching and research. Many research projects are specifically geared to the innovation needs of individual companies and industries or to the development potential of the regional environment. The competencies of HTW Berlin are particularly pronounced in the areas of "Industry and the Working World of the Future", "Digital Economy" and "Renewable Energies - Energy Efficiency".

Teaching and research - as close as possible to the concrete needs of companies and industries

"As a university of applied sciences, the transfer between science and business is a core concern of HTW Berlin. We train the young professionals of tomorrow and address the relevant challenges of our time in our research. The cooperation with Maschinenraum opens up further transfer potential for us, so we are very much looking forward to the collaboration," says Prof. Dr. Stefanie Molthagen-Schnöring, Vice President for Research and Transfer.

"I am very pleased that our network of university partners continues to grow and especially that we were able to win HTW Berlin for a partnership. Because one thing is certain: We need these valuable connections between family entrepreneurs, SMEs and students, between teaching, research and practice," says Tobias Rappers, Managing Director of Maschinenraum.
