Possehl joins the Maschinenraum innovation network
Lübeck / Berlin, 26.06.2024 – The Lübeck-based Possehl Group is becoming a member of the transformation ecosystem Maschinenraum, thereby taking an important step towards strengthening its innovative power and competitiveness.
Founded in 1847 by Ludwig Possehl as a trading company for iron and coal, Possehl is now a diversified, globally active group of technology companies with around 13,300 employees in over 30 countries. In the last financial year, Possehl achieved sales of just under 5.8 billion euros. Headquartered in Lübeck, Possehl-Holding combines ten independent divisions with more than 200 subsidiaries in the tire technology, cleaning technology, printing machines, intralogistics, precious metals processing, electronics, construction services, identification solutions, SME investments and digital sectors. Entrepreneurial thinking and action are at the heart of the Group's philosophy. The more than 200 Possehl companies are managed on a decentralized basis so that all necessary decisions can be made quickly and directly in the operating units. The Group has been wholly owned by the non-profit Possehl Foundation for over 100 years.
The cooperation with the Maschinenraum enables Possehl to benefit from an exchange at eye level and to work together with other family businesses and SMEs on the future viability of their companies.
"We are very much looking forward to working with the Maschinenraum network. The collaboration offers us new opportunities to ideally complement our own network of experts, which consists of specialist clusters, and to benchmark our offerings. This is a further step towards strengthening our Group's digital ecosystem" says Dr. Joachim Brenk, Chairman of the Possehl Executive Board.
"With Possehl, the Maschinenraum network has gained a corporate group that is an ideal fit for our ecosystem thanks to its long tradition, broad industry diversity and strong innovative strength. We are looking forward to an intensive exchange and to working together to provide new impetus for transformation and innovative business models," states Tobias Rappers, Managing Director of Maschinenraum.
