Transformation-Ecosystem Maschinenraum cooperates with RWTH Aachen University
Aachen/Berlin - The Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen, one of Germany's universities of excellence and the largest technical university in the German-speaking world, is becoming a cooperation partner of the transformation- ecosystem Maschinenraum. RWTH is continuously working to find viable, sustainable and responsible solutions to global challenges and to transform ideas into innovations. The partnership with Maschinenraum is now part of this effort.
The alliance of more than 70 family businesses as well as university partners and other innovators is working together to transform German family businesses. The collaboration with RWTH Aachen University is to be characterized by bringing together findings from science with practical experience. All participants should benefit from this.
With its 153-year history, RWTH looks back on many years of research findings. At the same time, however, the university has also kept its eyes on the future and on practice. Supported by RWTH, more than 100 new companies are now founded every year. This is helped, for example, by the so-called Collective Incubator, through which students can come into contact with initiatives, start-ups and founders. Examples like this demonstrate the university's stated learning goal of preparing students "optimally for global challenges and labor market requirements."
More than 47,000 students in 173 degree programs currently benefit from this offering. More than 10,000 employees are working to ensure that these students are not only prepared for the jobs of tomorrow, but are able to help shape the jobs of the day after tomorrow.
Progress is only possible together
"As RWTH, we aspire to create new knowledge that truly advances society," is how Prof. Dr. Dr. Rüdiger, Rector of RWTH Aachen University, describes his university's drive. "We are aware that we cannot do this alone. We have to work closely with all sectors of society to achieve this. In order to include the perspective of the German economy, family businesses must not be left out. Maschinenraum offers us very good access to them."
Tobias Rappers, co-managing director of Maschinenraum, sees the RWTH's focus on content in particular as an important addition to the network: "German industry and its suppliers are traditionally strongly characterized by family businesses. I expect a lot from the fact that we can now bring together this long-standing experience with the forward-looking teachers and students at RWTH."
