Würth Elektronik becomes part of the Maschinenraum initiative
Waldenburg / Berlin
Würth Elektronik, an internationally successful expert in the production and sale of electronic and electromechanical components, becomes part of Maschinenraum. This is an alliance of almost 60 medium-sized companies, university partners and innovators. Maschinenraum is dedicated to the challenges of our time with climate change, political upheaval, shortage of skilled workers, disrupted supply chains and energy shortages.
"As a promoter of future technologies, we see ourselves as having a special responsibility for the well-being and development opportunities of future generations," says Alexander Gerfer, CTO of the Würth Elektronik eiSos Group. "That's where it's all about getting down to business - here and now! Because decisions we make today are decisive for how livable our world will be tomorrow. This is an important reason why we decided to participate in the Maschinenraum ecosystem." Above all, we hope the community will provide an intensive exchange of experiences and promote best practices. Gerfer continues, "We by no means see Maschinenraum as a select body of decision-makers, but rather as a grassroots movement in which all employees can and should get involved." Würth Elektronik eiSos is one of the largest manufacturers of passive components in Europe, with operations in 50 countries and part of the Würth Group. With sales of EUR 1.09 billion at Würth Elektronik in 2021, priorities are set in the areas of digitalization, innovation, supply chain and compliance.
Bundled competence and swarm knowledge
Tobias Rappers, Managing Director of Maschinenraum, also sees a mutual benefit: "We are delighted to now have Würth Elektronik on board. The innovative medium-sized company is not only successful in its customer business, but also leads the way in its HR policy - from New Work and corporate culture to further training. Würth Elektronik will bring many new impulses to Maschinenraum and form valuable links with other companies."
